Actually I haven't found as many people in there as I thought there would be and they seem obsessed with earning money. But anyhow it's amusing... the graphics are kinda like the Sims or Quake. You just download a client and away you go.

I've been going in there like ... once a week because of time constraints but it's always amusing. You can see a lot of stuff in an hour because you can teleport and fly.

Re: Web Companies And Their Real-World Equivalents

Sang, use your search engine boy! ;-)

Here's a link that should get you started:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life

Supposed to be an online world modeled after Neal Stephenson's Metaverse from Snow Crash (which is an AWESOME book btw, a must read for you and Mr. K.).

I haven't tried it out but it sounds like World of Warcrack sans the fighting and orcs.

Re: Web Companies And Their Real-World Equivalents

hey jase, what is this 'second life' you've been blogging about? it sounds very orwellian.

there's an L&L in new york too, but i haven't been yet...
