  • Excellent review. I finished watching the DVD boxset over the weekend and it gets a bit ridiculous toward the end.

I think 17 episodes are a few too many! A lot of the earlier episodes you can definitely watch again and enjoy.

note to self: Must stop saying "be seeing you"
  • Cool. Yeah I agree about how they get progressively more bizarre, which obviously - I'll get to.

Be seeing you, too. Somehow, that makes more sense on a blog since we just view each other's web pages...
  • Jason,

I should be writing a post for my own blog but here I am writing on yours! Talk about procrastination...

There is a vaaaaaaast trove of info about The Prisoner on the web. It was a cult hit right from the get go. BTW, it was only intended as a 16 or 17 episode series, I believe that's how McGoohan wanted it. And it does get a LOT more bizarre as it goes on -- but, hey, it was the '60s and weird was cool.

Get this -- The Village is actually a Welsh resort called Portmeirion:

You can go there! It's a trip I've wanted to do since I was a kid.

I love everything about the show, including the music. My favorite episode is Hammer Into Anvil, Patrick Cargill is great as the paranoid #2. You need to keep writing -- I want to know who you think Number 1 is...
