Music Notes: Bands I Hope Never Get Back Together

Started by webomatica · 10 months ago

Anyhow, I recently read that Van Halen had contacted David Lee Roth and the uber early 80s hard rock band might get back to rocking, which got me thinking... about some bands that I pray never get the reunion tour bug. ... Continue reading »

  • hey jase,

i didn't know you liked the pumpkins :) i heard they are making a new album though.... hopefully with james iha. his solo stuff is pure crap. james iha is billy's muse.
  • Solo... are you talking about Billy Corgan? I didn't really like the Billy Corgan solo album. That Zwan stuff was okay.
  • Jimmy Corgan? I didn't know he put out such stuff. Yeah I can't much stand Zwan either.

His solo stuff for the pumpkins, the 4 track demos are brilliant though, for Saimese and Mellon Collie, even Adore.
  • Whoops I meant Billy Corgan. He did some album called The Future Embrace that was pretty strange. There was a duet with Robert Smith...
  • Good list, but a few other bands hope never get back together:
    - Menudo
    - Backstreet Boys
    - Spice Girls
    - Jackson 5

And bands that *ought* to break up:
    - The Rolling Stones (comon guys, retire already!)
  • I almost included the Jackson 5 on this post. I think the Spice Girls already got back together under the moniker Pussycat Dolls. Just kidding...
  • The Pumpkins ARE back together, at least officially. And they're being coy about the band members. Only Corgan and Chamberlain are confirmed, but the official site (smashingpumpkins.com) claims a new album "soon."
  • eh... that kind of scares me. I think you might notice that this list has some bands I really like and I wouldn't want their legacy marred with sub-standard stuff. I keep my fingers crossed that a new pumpkins will be good, but I felt similarly before The Future Embrace and Zwan and was saddened.
