I know what you mean about being in a state of tweaking. With both of my blogs I am finding things about the current themes that either irritate me or downright bug the hell out of me :)

On the good side I think I found one for WinExtra that with my limited php knowledge and fair to middlin' CSS ability I can finally whip into something I will like all around.

As for your mention of SMF for the bottle cap site - I run SMF for the WinExtra Community forums but have noticed some nice looking WordPress forum plugins come available ... maybe look at those as an alternative - one way to maintain theme consistency.

I think writing this post alleviated some writer's block as I'm making progress on some little things that have kept me from these goals.

Good mention of using WordPress instead of SMF. I'm not familiar with SMF so setting it would have entailed learning it, which I wanted to do but in the interest of time savings, I could set up another wordpress site way faster.
