(1) I was one of three DaveDs living in my town of 200,000 in Pennsylvania. None of us have ever met, and AFAIK none of us are related whatsoever. I speak in the past tense because there are only two of us left in town - the one with bad credit doesn't live in the area anymore!
(2) I grew up as a Cleveland sports fan listening to (then) WWWE and nowadays WTAM 1100 AM, the broadcast home of the Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. I don't know if he's still the broadcast engineer for the radio sportcasts, but guess who it was? You got it.
(3) But why I just had to post is this - my namesake went from being the GM of the Montreal Expos (contender when he was there) to the Florida Marlins (leading them to the World Series over Cleveland in 1997 and pretty much rebuilt the 2003 champs too) to nowadays the Detroit Tigers (AL champs in 2006).
I'm still amazed at how people I work with every day can't believe how common my name is.
