Why do you think that it is too soon for a 3G iPhone? Well, except for the cry of rage that would erupt from Apple Enthusiasts everywhere.

Surely, the manufacturing would not be a problem.

It's definitely coming sometime in 2008, but I'm thinking toward the middle of the year. The iPhone has only been out for half a year at this point, and I have the feeling Jobs is going to really want to push video and this ultraportable tomorrow. All speculation and I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong come tomorrow.
