Glad you're enjoying it... wonder what your high score is? I seem to average around 100K, often falling below. High score is 146,269. Would love to know some strategies!

No kidding, I've stopped playing (and buying) other iPhone games, thanks to Drop7.

I'm close to putting it in the dock, that's how bad this is. Drop7 is the perfect game, and I'll have to uninstall it to actually do other things with my iPhone.

Part of the fun of ordering things online is using this app. I've used the Dashboard widget for a long time, the synching between that and the iPhone app is awesome.

Yeah, the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse I bought years ago (and switched away from) ate batteries, too. And it wanted the expensive ones!

My noise-canceling headphones eat two AAA batteries a month, rechargeables sound like a good idea.

Most BluRay players do let you watch standard DVDs and they have something called "DVD upgrade" on them, which try to force the DVDs to play in higher definition (it does, but only slightly).

Mine, for example, lets you do this. I honestly can't tell that much difference between the DVD and BluRay discs on it. I use a Philips BluRay player, FWIW.

I wonder if this article is really true, if it is then we might say that Facebook is planning something fishy. I am a Facebook user mainly because I keep in touch with my friends and relatives, nothing more. I don't understand how HD DVD lost out to BluRay. If I recall correctly you could still watch standard dvds on the hd dvd player.

Yeah... those load times on the Blu-Ray discs certainly try the patience. I
guess it depends on which player and model you have, but out of the two
discs I've seen, it definitely felt longer than DVD.

Hey, at least you didn't buy an HD DVD player!

That being said, for disc based viewing, I mostly watch Blu-Ray at this point. I agree that the format has limited appeal though. And were it not a secondary feature of the PS3, it's doubtful I would've purchased a stand-alone player. Large screen HDTVs and projection systems likely see the most benefit, of course.

Yeah, that is annoying about Apple. They'll never admit to a problem unless they really have to.

A firmware fix could improve the situation, I guess. But I won't hold my breath for it. Rechargeables do sound like a good option, especially since I will soon have two Magic Mice of my own (work and home), plus my girlfriend's two (work and home). That's a lot of batteries to replace every six weeks.

Definitely like the mouse as well and am not giving it up. Think I'll go the
rechargeable route as am already feeling guilty tossing all these batteries.

I always hold out some hope that this is a genuine issue which Apple can
fix. But also, knowing how Apple is with these sorts of situations, they
won't publicly acknowledge anything until they've collected a lot of
complaints and have a fix worked out, which could take a while. So
rechargeables it is.
