Apple’s OS X Leopard Slips, Missed Opportunity To Shame Vista

Rats. I guess Apple has just announced that the latest version of OS X, Leopard, won't ship in spring as originally promised but will emerge in October, after the WWDC.

  • Yeah, it sucks. Makes you wonder what crazy profit margins they must be getting with phones and ipods. There's a part of me hoping that they'll shake off preconcieved notions from the past and attack the PC market like never before. Who cares about clone PCs? The ability to install the trashtastic Windows on an equally trashtastic knock off PC isn't as alluring as it once was. If they want complete freedom they can go with one of those Linux distros. If I didn't have Apple I'd probably go Ubuntu.
  • The most conspiritorial aspect of this whole thing is, now that I don't need to have the $200 clams set aside this spring for Leopard, I'm jonesing for something else to buy. Like an Apple TV or something.
